About Mark L. Pitel, DMD, FAGD, FACD
Dr. Pitel completed both his undergraduate and dental studies at Temple University in Philadelphia. He obtained a BA in Chemistry in 1978 and his DMD in 1982. After completing dental school, he worked on the surgical team of Dr. Leonard Linkow, a well known pioneer in the field of dental implants. Currently, Dr. Pitel maintains active memberships in the NY State Dental Association, American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has earned his Fellowship from the American College of Dentists, the Academy of General Dentistry and is a past president of the New Jersey Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Pitel has received level II certification by the Academy of Laser Dentistry and was recognized by Who’s Who in Dentistry.
A 3rd generation dentist, he has over 27 years experience owning and operating private general practices with an “emphasis on Cosmetic, Restorative and Implant Dentistry” in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California and New York. In addition to his private practice in Poughkeepsie, Dr. Pitel is a Clinical Associate Professor at Columbia Univeristy School of Dentistry. He has authored numerous scientific papers and articles of interest to patients and is the author of a textbook on dental impression taking.
